When visitors leave comments, we collect the data shown in the comments form, plus the visitor’s IP address and browser user-agent string for spam detection.
An anonymized hash from your email address may be sent to Gravatar to check if you use the service. After your comment is approved, your profile picture becomes publicly visible alongside it. Gravatar’s privacy policy is at automattic.com/privacy.

Cookies
If you leave a comment, you may opt in to saving your name, email, and website in cookies for convenience — they last one year. When you visit our login page, a temporary cookie checks if your browser accepts cookies. It holds no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. Logging in sets cookies to save your login information and display preferences. Login cookies last two days; screen-options cookies last a year. Selecting “Remember Me” extends login persistence to two weeks. Logging out removes all login cookies. Editing or publishing an article sets an additional cookie containing the post ID. It expires after one day and holds no personal data.
